Walter and Verdna Leishman Scholarship

Walter and Verdna Leishman were longtime Beloit residents who believed in giving back to the community they loved so much. Upon Walter’s death in 1986, Verdna found herself with time to be more involved with First Baptist Church, Friends of Paul’s Computer Institute, Caritas, Baptist Children’s Home, Beloit Regional Hospice, Good Shepherd Orphanage in Bamenda, Cameroon and Camp Tamarack. Verdna’s estate established this scholarship.

Criteria:

• Female student  (Graduating senior or adult learner)
• Graduate of Beloit Memorial, Clinton, or Turner High School
• Attending college or technical school
