Since 1986 Stateline Community Foundation (SCF) has strengthened the community by pairing the resources of those who want to give with organizations doing excellent work in the Stateline Area.

Vision

A Stateline region where every life is enriched by the transformative power of philanthropy.

  • The Stateline Community Foundation is proud to stand as the region’s leading resource for information about charitable giving and community needs.
  • Our Foundation gives everyone the opportunity to make significant and lasting gifts to their community.
  • We manage 200 funds that enhance the Stateline Area. Together with our generous donors, we create a strong culture of philanthropy that positively impacts our community.
  • We are a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) public charity founded in 1986 to provide grants and scholarships to organizations and projects that improve the quality of life in the Wisconsin-Illinois Stateline Area.

Mission

Stateline Community Foundation is dedicated to identifying and responding to community needs through strategic partnerships, informed grantmaking, and inspired philanthropy.

The Foundation fulfills its mission by:

  • Attracting charitable funds, chiefly in the form of permanent endowments, which are committed to meeting the needs of the people living in the Stateline Area.
  • Using those precious resources wisely and efficiently in addressing key concerns of the community, responding to its emerging and changing needs and sustaining its agencies and institutions. In doing so, the foundation serves as steward for the individuals, families, foundations, and organizations which, over the years, have entrusted assets to its care.
  • Providing leadership to the community, serving as a convener and catalyst in identifying problems, needs, and opportunities, and shaping effective responses to them.

What is a Community Foundation?

Community foundations are unique but share a basic concept – meeting present needs and preparing for future issues thanks to the generosity of our donors. We manage nearly 200 funds, each created by donors to meet their charitable goals. Every year a portion of each fund supports a broad range of local agencies and interests. Over time, investment income increases both the value of funds and the impact of grants on the community.
