Carroll D. Tangeman Scholarship

Carroll D. Tangeman was a graduate of St Thomas High School in Rockford, Illinois.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp. and was employed by the South Beloit Post Office for 33 years.

He retired on July 31, 1987.  He was a member of the South Beloit American Legion Post No. 288, South Beloit Businessmen Association, South Beloit Lions Club, Beloit Elks Lodge No. 864, Knights of Columbus St. Thomas Council No. 605 and a 4th degree member of the Joseph E. Hanz Assembly No. 1209.

Mr. Tangeman was also a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society.  Mr. Tangeman created this scholarship for South Beloit High School students who are planning to attend a trade school.

The Carroll D. Tangeman Scholarship is available:

  • Current seniors or graduates of South Beloit High School,
  • Attending a trade or technical college.
