Cheryl Metcalf Teaching Career Scholarship

This Scholarship was established by Cheryl and Mike Metcalf. Mrs. Metcalf (Cheryl Henthorn) is a 1970 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1974, she pursued a career in public education.  Her responsibilities have included teacher, principal, director of special programs, assistant superintendent, curriculum consultant and mentor to new principals.  She earned her advanced degrees from Northern Illinois University.  This scholarship is awarded to a student pursuing a career in education.

Criteria:

  • Beloit Memorial High School Senior
  • Student must be enrolled in a University of Wisconsin School
  • Student must be planning to teach as a career
  • Student must have good grades
  • Student must be a good citizen
  • Financial need (You must include a copy of the page from your SAR that shows your EFC or Estimated EFC)
  • Preference will be given to a first generation college student
