Loren M. Sass Performing Arts Scholarship

Loren Sass came to Beloit in 1968 and taught at Lincoln Junior High and Beloit Memorial High School. While at Memorial, he taught the theater classes, designed and directed all the plays and musicals. He remains active in the Beloit Civic Theatre as a set designer, actor and director.  He was inducted into the Rock County United Arts Alliance Hall of Fame in 2009.  This scholarship was founded in his honor at his retirement in 2002.

Criteria:

• A senior at Beloit Memorial High School
• Has demonstrated good citizenship while at school and in the community
• A student who is prepared to enter an accredited college or university in the school term following graduation
• A student who has been involved in the extracurricular theatre program while a student at Beloit Memorial High School.
