David J. Palcic Memorial Scholarship

The David J. Palcic Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the life and memory of David Palcic.  David passed away in March of 2012 due to an undiagnosed depressive episode which led to suicide. He was only 21 years old.  

While we only had David with us for an all-too-brief time, he made a huge impact on the lives of his family and friends. David was the kind of young man that anyone would be proud to call son, brother, grandson, cousin, or friend.  Fun-loving and quick-witted with a charmingly sarcastic sense of humor, David was simply a joy to be around.  His high-spirited nature along with his mischievous smile and contagious laughter could brighten any day.

This memorial scholarship fund is designed for anyone whose life has been affected by suicide.  Whether you are an attempt survivor or you lost a loved one to suicide, this fund is for you.

Although David’s life was far too short, the gift of love he gave to family and friends will remain as his legacy.  His loved ones will forever cherish the memories of their precious times together.

• Please submit a short essay (300 to 1,000 words) explaining how your life has been impacted by suicide.
